“The quality of a life is determined by its activities” – Aristotle

Co-curricular activities help students to pursue interest outside the standardized education. Theoretical knowledge gained by the students in the classroom is translated into practical knowledge through these activities. We at DAV have several beneficial activities for the students of classes I to XII. The school stays abuzz with various activities throughout the year to nurture, nourish and stimulate the interests of all the students.

Extempore, elocution, story-telling and recitation competitions are conducted to create confidence in effective communication and public speaking. Mono-acting, essay writing, drawing, origami, music and dance competitions develop their creative and aesthetic skills. Spiritual and moral values are fostered through Vedic-chanting, Gita-chanting, Thirukkural Recitation and so on.

Students are encouraged and provided with opportunities to participate in Inter-School competitions like art, dance, music, debates, quiz, sports etc. Club activities are also conducted regularly. Indoor sports events like table tennis, chess, carrom and outdoor events like badminton, basketball, volleyball, football etc are played throughout the year.

Students are encouraged and trained to participate in both inter and intra school competitions.  Apart from these, students also participate enthusiastically in the After School Activities like Mock Parliament, Mental ability, ICT, Toastmasters, Online Chess, Music, Art and Craft, Handwriting, Young Scientist, Be Fit, Dance and Sloka which help them to gain experience, learn social skills, build self-confidence and bloom into cheerful individuals with a positive outlook of life.

A Work Experience Workshop in Electronics and Art Section have been provided in the school. Computer Literacy Programme has been introduced for classes III to IX along with the facility for Computer Science study as an elective subject in the senior secondary level. Moral Instruction and Yoga Training form an integral part of the curriculum. All efforts are being made to develop among students an understanding and appreciation of the great and rich Vedic heritage and culture of our motherland in tune with the progressive trends in modern education.
