No pupil will absent himself / herself without prior permission except under unforeseen circumstances. In such cases application for leave shall be sent to the Class Teacher so as to reach the office not later than 2.00 p.m. on the first day of absence.
Application for leave of absence shall be made on behalf of the pupil by his or her parent or guardian and addressed to the Class Teacher for a period not exceeding two days and to the Principal for a longer period.
Absence without a leave letter and late coming shall be considered as a punishable offence. Any instance of truancy will be severely dealt with.
Habitual latecomers shall not be allowed to attend school. If the late coming record has more than five entries, the parents will have to meet the Principal.
In case of unauthorised absence of 5 or more consecutive working days, a penal fee of Rs.100/- shall be levied. Unauthorised absence for 15 days or more could result in REMOVAL OF THE PUPIL’S NAME FROM THE ROLLS.
Pupils requiring leave during any part of the day, whatever be the reason, will have to obtain the Principal’s permission in person and the Out Pass is mandatory for gate clearance.
Any pupil availing sick leave shall be required to produce a medical certificate and a copy of the prescription.
Attendance is compulsory on the last working day before any vacation and also on the reopening day. In case any student absents himself/herself, a heavy penalty will be collected.
Every pupil is required to have an attendance of not less than 85% of the working days in a school year, failing which the chances of promotion to the next class may be doubtful.
Students will report to school only between 8.45 a.m. – 9.00 a.m. School authorities are not responsible for students who reach before the specified time.
Children suffering from infectious diseases will not be allowed to attend the classes. Only on producing the medical certificate from a competent medical officer, they will be allowed to attend the classes. Other children belonging to the same family should also be kept at home till such time they are totally free from infection.
Parents are requested to inform personally the Principal/ the class teacher about any specific illness (like heart problem, juvenile diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, seizures etc.) the student is suffering from. The necessary medical report and the precautions to be taken should also be submitted to the school authorities to enable them to act appropriately. The same should be recorded in the student’s diary.
Pupils shall greet one another and their teachers with the traditional “Namaste”, and their behaviour towards elders shall be marked by respect and obedience.
Pupils shall be assigned suitable places in the classroom by the class teachers. Perfect silence must prevail during all assembly sessions and at all public functions. The classes should be in the place assigned to them as soon as the attendance is over. Latecomers must wait outside the class room till the first period teacher comes.
The Class Leaders shall maintain silence in the class till the respective teachers come to their classes.
Pupils moving from one class to another shall be in order, keeping to the left always, and shall observe perfect silence on their way.
On a teacher entering the classroom, the pupils shall raise and remain standing till they are advised to sit. When the teacher leaves the class after the session, the pupils shall raise and thank the teacher and resume their seats quickly. The classes will commence and end with a brief silent prayer.
Any pupil found loitering in the premises shall be seriously dealt with. During working hours, an easy-going attitude must be avoided.
During off hours, either before or after school hours, either during short break or during the long recess, pupils’ behaviour will be subject to inspection and correction.
Pupils, in their own interest, are expected to attend school in full uniform. No other variations allowed. Clean nails, well -combed hair (close cropped hairstyle for boys and double braided hairstyle for girls) and clean shoes complement neat and smart turnout. Anything short of this will not be entertained.
The pupils are expected to cooperate in keeping the premises of the school neat and tidy and therefore refrain from scribbling on the wall and scattering bits of paper. Objectionable practices like damaging the furniture and dirtying the floor will be viewed very seriously.
Students damaging/ defacing school property will be fined.
English being the medium of instruction, students should converse only in English in the school premises.
Every student is expected to take part in all co-curricular activities and games unless declared medically unfit or exempted by the Principal for valid reasons.
No pupil of the school should be a member of any outside organisation or take part in activities not connected with the school without obtaining permission from the Principal.
No student or group of students or members of students’ association / clubs are permitted to collect any funds in cash or cheque from any internal or external source. The parents are advised to warn their children against any collection. Any violation of this rule will be seriously dealt with.
Students are not allowed to bring / wear any valuable item to school and school will not take any responsibility for the loss of the same.
Parents are requested not to indulge their children by giving cash as the practice would tend to result in juvenile delinquency and petty larceny causing inconvenience and disturbance to the administration.
Students are not permitted to bring cell phones or other gadgets to school as per the school rules. The gadgets will be seized and returned to the parents only at the end of the academic year.
Students are not permitted to bring non-vegetarian food as part of their snacks / lunch.
Students must not ride motorized vehicles to school. Failure to adherence of the rule, will invite stringent action against the student.
Parents are advised not to send their children for private tuition for any subject to coaching centres / teachers. The parents can seek the help of the Principal to enrol their children in the special classes being conducted in the school itself.
It is to be borne in mind by each pupil that his conduct should bring good name not only to the parents but also to the institution.
Periodical Progress Report will be sent to the parents or guardians to keep them informed of the pupils’ regularity, conduct and performance at school.
They must be returned to school immediately duly signed by the parent or guardian.
Any pupil who does not return the Progress Report within two days, duly signed by the parent or guardian, shall not be allowed to attend classes.
Any pupil who tampers with the Progress Report or is found guilty of any other kind of malpractice is liable to severe disciplinary action.
When a parent is asked to report to the school in connection with his child, he shall make it a point to respond to it immediately in the interest of his ward.
Any parent wishing to offer any remark pertaining to the Progress Report of his child/children sent to him will please not enter it in the report but will address a separate communication to the school.
The parents are requested not to contact the teachers (including nursery teachers) relating to their children directly but only through the Principal.
The parents are always welcome during visiting hours (03:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m.) to discuss with the Principal the progress, behaviour and other issues pertinent to their wards.
Parents can meet the teachers (subject to their availability) on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m.
The student should be in school uniform if the photograph is to be attested by the school. Other photographs will not be attested.
Lunch pass will be issued to students residing at BHEL Township on request. Anyhow, the school advises the students to bring lunch.
Parents are requested not to send expensive gifts,eatables and cakes for their ward’s birthday to school. Students of classes VI - XII are not allowed to sport birthday dress to school.
