The school has a vibrant Cultural Society that provides platform to students for displaying their creativity in the field of Music, Dramatics, Dance, Art and Craft, and Public Speaking. The school has a strong NCC unit, Eco-Club, Health Club and Philately Club to name a few.

ENGLISH LITERARY CLUB

“The English language is a work in progress. Have fun with it.” As the saying goes, English Department organized Literary Club activities for various classes in the academic year 2023-2024. English club gives students opportunities to practice English in a relaxed, informal environment to develop their LSRW.

English Club Activities helped children to develop their language, vocabulary and communication skills. It increased learner’s desire to practice and learn on their own. 

ART CLUB

The Arts Club is to inspire and enable our students to actively learn and develop their talent and skills that will develop artistic expression. Having an art club is great way to keep students involved throughout the year. With limited time in the classroom, art club can serve as a nice supplement for those students who can’t get enough art. An art club also allows you the opportunity and freedom to try new things with students.

PERFORMING ART CLUB

This report highlights the vibrant activities of the Dance Club, showcasing its success in promoting physical activity, encouraging participation, and fostering talent among students.

The club effectively motivated around 40 students from 3rd to 8th standard to embrace an active lifestyle through dance. This engagement not only promotes physical well-being but also cultivates discipline, coordination, and self-expression.

The club played a crucial role in encouraging student participation in the 42nd annual day dance program. With 40 participants, the club significantly contributed to the program’s success, showcasing the dedication and talent of its members.

The club’s initiative, “NADANA ARANGAM,” a dance competition held on January 6th, 2024, provided a platform for students from all grades (3rd to 8th) to compete and display their skills.

This internal competition undoubtedly boosted student confidence, fostered a spirit of healthy competition, and celebrated achievements through prizes.

The Dance Club has undoubtedly made a positive impact on the school community. By igniting a passion for dance, the club motivates students to be active, fosters a sense of belonging, and provides opportunities for expression and growth.

TAMIL CLUB

Tamil literary club mainly focuses on students LSRW skills and have conducted competitions for the classes I to X such as Elocution competition, Essay writing competition, Poem recitation and Handwriting competition.

These competitions enriched students’ knowledge, creativity and innovative skills. This encouraged students to participate in all the competitions to develop their competitive skill and boost up their confidence level.

HINDI CLUB

Hindi literary club mainly focuses on students LSRW skills and have conducted competitions for the classes I to XII such as Story writing competition, Essay writing competition, Poem recitation, Advertisement making, Spell well competition and Handwriting competition.

These competitions enriched students’ knowledge, creativity and innovative skills. This encouraged students to participate in all the competitions to develop their competitive skill and boost up the confidence level

SCIENCE CLUB

The Science club of DAV BHEL School strives to develop Scientific temper in children, help them hone their skills in presentation and to equip them in application of science in their lives.

CODING CLUB

The main vision of the club is to expose the students to the latest advancements in computer technology and give individuals an opportunity for sharing and extending ideas, views and knowledge in the field of computers and fast changing technology.

To provide students a platform where they gain knowledge about the Anatomy of the Computer.

To help students in enhancing their presentation and organizational skills.

This Year 2023 -2024 the Social Science Club has carried out the following activities.

COMMERCE CLUB

Every year commerce club involving itself in various activities to enhance the students of commerce by developing their intensive and extensive knowledge.

This year the club invited the Alumni Shri. Vidhi, currently doing her professional course, CA finals, interacted with the students as career guidance program.

Vellore Institute of Technology conducted COMFEST’23 for the commerce students. Our students participated and won prizes.

The Club also conducted “Signal Points” a Quiz program and encouraged the students to learn apart from books.

Vidhya Saadhan, the mini stationery for students of our school, has made a remarkable sale this year.

READERS CLUB

“READING IS A DREAMING WITH OPEN EYES”

To inculcate the habit of reading in students and to create more interest in the world of books, the school inaugurated various activities to promote reading “The Readers Club” (2023-24) of DAV BHEL SCHOOL.

Readers Club organised activities on 21.9.2023 The main motto of Readers Club is to promote reading habit among students. We organised a ‘Literature Quiz’. Students also presented speech on various topics like Read to lead, Reading make perfect Man, Author who inspired me, How to choose a good book, Difference between fiction and nonfiction, Book reviews and famous quotes of authors. Students actively participated in the club activities with great enthusiasm. Thus, the event was a grand success.

SPORTS CLUB

In the month of July & August conducted selection and inter house Games and
Athletics for Annual Sports day.

In the month of September August conducted selection for inter DAV Tournaments
like Volleyball, Football, Kho-Kho, Badminton and Athletics, also conducted
selection for Cluster VI competition.

In the month of November & December conducted selection and Feeder house Athletics for Annual Sports day.

As a part of sports club Trained students for March Past during Sports day and Independence Day.

YOGA CLUB

On the occasion of International YOGA Day on 21.07.2023 yoga for 585 students was conducted for both boys & girls of classes VI to VIII.

Inter DAV Yoga competition Selection was conducted on 16.07.2023. Among 80 participants 65 students were selected.

Cluster VI Yoga selection was conducted on August 2023 from VI to XII 65 Boys & Girls were participated and 14 students are selected 

As a part of yoga club during Sports day 160 students from VII std. boys & girls performed Mass yoga display.

HEALTH CLUB

NCC CLUB

The NCC Troop number T – 16, DAV BHEL School aims to develop character, comradeship and discipline in the cadets and to mould them into good citizens of our nation.

The troop has a strength of 100 cadets.

49 cadets attended the Annual Training Camp at AirForce Station, Tambaram between 13 September 2023 and 22 September 2023.

To commemorate NCC day, a poster designing competition was conducted on 27 November 2023.

ECO CLUB

The Eco Club organized impactful activities throughout the year to engage and educate students on pressing environmental issues.

In June 2023, Classes X A, B, C, D participated in a poster-making event, creating awareness about organ donation and life after death. In October 2023, Class IX conducted a special cleanliness drive, emphasizing the importance of sanitation and hygiene in society.

Additionally, Classes I to V participated in adopting sustainable food systems, promoting eco-friendly practices. These activities reflect the Eco Club’s dedication to nurturing a sense of environmental responsibility and sustainability among students.

CLUTURE & HERITAGE CLUB

The Cultural and Heritage club conducted various competitions like Drawing, Article writing and Poetry writing from classes VI-XII on 16th August 2023. Students actively participated in the competition and won prizes.

MUSIC CLUB

Music, a timeless language, transcends barriers and touches the soul. With rhythm and melody, it communicates emotions and stories, uniting us all across cultures and time.

The Music Club organized diverse musical events aimed at nurturing musical understanding. Led by President Akshaya and Secretary Keerthi K S, they curated various activities fostering musical appreciation.

International Music Day

Celebrated with diverse student performances, the Music Club’s organization highlighted cultural diversity and showcased an array of musical talent.

Nila Choru Event

Under the Music Club’s guidance, exceptional performances from classes 4 and 5 were featured, presenting stellar displays in Veena, folk, and classical music, adding vibrancy to the occasion.

Independence Day & Gandhi Jayanthi

Filled with patriotic fervour, both Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanthi witnessed passionate renditions of patriotic songs, organized and executed by the Music Club, symbolizing love, unity, and devotion to the nation.
