DAAN UTSAV - ‘JOY OF GIVING’ WEEK

SEVA MAITHRI

The Seva Maithri Club was launched successfully on 31st July 2023 across all the levels of classes in our school. The class teachers of classes I to IX and XI
had discussion with the students on ‘What is Seva’ and students were encouraged to share their views about the importance of seva. The same was
also written by them individually. Students gained a group spirit to get involved in initiating Seva Maithri activities.

Students of class IX and XI contributed stationeries to be donated to orphanage. On 8 September 2023, students representing each section of class IX ad XI have been taken to the Deena Bandhu Ashram located in Walajah. Our students interacted with the children in the ashram and donated the stationeries. The activity helped the students to experience the joy of giving and sharing.
On 8 September 2023, a group of students from Middle school performed various cultural programmes to entertain the senior citizens at Mahatma Gandhi Oldage home, Arcot. All the elderly people of the oldage home enjoyed watching the performance of the students. Programmes such as speech, storytelling, singing, guitar music, dance, puppet show etc., were performed by the students with a lot of enthusiasm. The students were also engaged in interacting with the inmates there during the visit. It was indeed a rich and learning experience for the students.
Teachers motivated the volunteers and collected worksheets, lesson videos, models, chart work from students and the same was shared with the students studying in government run schools.

Prashasti

Prashasti, a voluntary medical guidance initiative has been started for the public in which alumni play an active role. The alumni facilitated the organization of blood donation camps through D.A.V Prashasti in collaboration with the Rotary central TTK VHS Blood Bank.
